Supported Employment Program

Building brighter futures by supporting adults in reaching their career goals.

Supported Employment Services

Supported Employment services can be accessed as part of our adult CalWORKs program in the Antelope Valley. The Supported Employment program helps CalWORKs participants interested in working to obtain and maintain jobs of their choosing.  Participants work with an Employment Specialist one-on-one to address employment needs and work towards their career goals.  As part of the program, a mental health clinician provides individual therapy and coordinates any additional services a participant needs (groups, medication, case management, etc.).

Supported Employment services may include:

  • professional job skills
  • resumes
  • applications
  • mock interviews
  • meeting employers
  • job coaching
  • on-the-job training
  • job supports

How Can I be referred to Supported Employment?

If you are receiving CalWORKs with GAIN (Greater Avenues for Independence), you may speak with your GAIN Worker at DPSS regarding a referral.  You may also reach out to the CalWORKs Manager or Supported Employment Supervisor (See contact information below).
