What is Unarmed Model of Crisis Response (UMCR)

The UMCR team will work in collaboration with the LAPD to respond to non-violent calls from 911 within the Devonshire and West Valley reporting districts. The calls for the UMCR team will be those that may have a social services impact including but not limited to (a) mental health, (b) substance abuse, (c) suicide threats, (d) behavioral distress, (e) conflict resolution, and (f) welfare checks;
