March marks the beginning of Women’s History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the achievements, contributions, and resilience of women throughout history and how they continue today. It is an opportunity to reflect on the trailblazers who have paved the way for progress and to honor the women in our own lives who continue to inspire and lead.
Throughout history, women have played vital roles in shaping society—whether in social services, science, politics, business, education, the arts, or activism. From pioneers like Ive Markovits, who provided a home for young women to Marie Curie, who revolutionized the field of physics, and Rosa Parks, whose courage ignited the Civil Rights Movement, women have continually broken barriers and defied expectations. Yet, Women’s History Month is not only about those whose names appear in history books—it is also about recognizing the everyday heroes among us: mothers, mentors, teachers, colleagues, and friends who uplift and inspire.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, we invite all PLC staff to participate in our Inspiring Women Collage—a tribute to the women who have made a lasting impact on our lives. Each of our offices has a designated space where you can add a picture, article, or personal note about a woman who has inspired you. Whether it’s a historical figure, a family member, a leader in your community, or a colleague, we encourage you to share their story and celebrate their contributions.
Having been founded by a woman, Penny Lane is forever grateful for her legacy and we recognize the ongoing efforts, power and strength of all women. Together, let’s take this time to recognize the strength, achievements, and influence of women past and present. Their stories remind us of how far we have come and inspire us to continue striving for equality, respect, and opportunity for all.
Happy Women’s History Month!
