2025 Theme: Queer Horizons- Helping LGBTQ+ Youth Navigate Mental Health, Community, & Identity

Penny Lane Centers is proud to host the 15th Annual EDGY Conference (Embracing the Diversity of GLBTQ+ Youth and families). This one-day conference brings together professionals, educators, caregivers, youth, and allies to foster awareness, develop cultural competency, and share emerging best practices in supporting LGBTQ+ youth and their families. Through expert-led workshops, engaging panels, and networking opportunities, the EDGY Conference equips attendees with the tools and knowledge to create more inclusive and supportive environments.

The theme Queer Horizons is a call to action and a vision for the future—a future where LGBTQ+ youth not only survive but thrive. It represents the boundless potential of creating affirming horizons where all young people can explore their identities, access the support they need, and feel empowered to embrace their true selves. These affirming horizons serve as beacons of hope, guiding LGBTQ+ youth through challenges and inspiring allies to stand in solidarity.

In the face of heightened social and political adversity, Queer Horizons is a reminder of the power of resilience and community. It emphasizes the need for spaces that affirm and uplift LGBTQ+ youth by recognizing their diverse identities, intersectional experiences, and unique contributions to the world. These horizons are built on inclusivity, allyship, and equity—values that ensure no one is left behind.

This year’s theme challenges us to answer critical questions:

  • How can we reimagine mental health systems to affirm the diverse needs of LGBTQ+ youth?
  • What does an affirming community look like, and how do we work together to build it?
  • How do we empower youth to embrace their authentic selves, celebrating the richness of their identities while navigating societal challenges?
  • How can we push past rhetoric to take meaningful action, ensuring safe, equitable, and affirming horizons for every LGBTQ+ individual?

We want you to empower this change as Penny Lane presents EDGY 2025 to over 400+ attendees eager to learn more and do more. EDGY prides itself on providing “take aways,” resources and tools for us all to use to help LGBTQ+ youth.  These are our kids.  EDGY looks to extend the community and support we all need to transform lives.

The 2025 Rise Up Conference: What Now- Our Values in Action

Penny Lane Centers, a pioneering organization dedicated to empowering marginalized communities, is pleased to announce the call for proposals for the "Rise Up: What Now - Our Values in Action" conference. Rooted in the belief that our values are a powerful tool to guide our actions for social change, this conference endeavors to provide a platform where voices often marginalized or unheard can resonate and inspire action.

In a world inundated with narratives of hate and exclusion, the Rise Up conference stands as a beacon of hope and resilience. Just as our values helped shape us as children, those same values now inspire us to action as we work towards serving all marginalized populations. Our current political climate is compelling us to do more, be more, and be better. The values we hold will lead us to doing the right thing for all people.

For over five decades, Penny Lane has been an agency of action. Our core values—community, collaboration, and commitment—have moved us to advocate for those whose voices often go unheard. Through these values, Penny Lane continues to transform lives as we take a stand and declare what we believe in. From providing sanctuary for young women exiting the juvenile justice system to spearheading initiatives for racial justice, Penny Lane embodies the ethos of listening, learning, and lifting others up. Through the Rise Up conference, we aim to amplify this ethos by inviting individuals and organizations to share their values and actions with courage, resilience, and solidarity.

Join Us!

2025 marks the 4th iteration of the Rise Up conference, and we are thrilled by its growing resonance within our community. Joined by hundreds of partners committed to eradicating racism and promoting equity by digging into our values, we envision an action-oriented day filled with forward momentum that will challenge, inspire, and ultimately catalyze change. Join us as we embark on this transformative journey, where each step forward has the potential to spark a ripple effect of compassion and action. What actions will you take that will help shape the narrative of justice and equity?
