Halloween Holiday Potlucks at Our Family Centers

North Hollywood Family Center Halloween Potluck

Staff from the NoHo and Sun Commons offices came together for our Spooky Halloween Potluck Party, organized by Thea and Mayva, and it was a fantastic success! Many participated by bringing a delightful spread of food and donning creative costumes. A special thanks to those who took the time to provide an amazing array of dishes and beverages—it really added to the festivities!

We held a costume contest where everyone voted for their top two choices, and the winners were Thea, who took first place as a Worker Bee, and Evelyn Pacheco, who impressed us all, as the Joker in second place. The day was filled with laughter, good company, and fun games like Pictionary. Everyone had a great time, and we can’t wait to do it again next year!

Antelope Valley Family Center Fall Festival

The annual AV Fall Festival brought the AV staff together for a fun-filled day of autumn activities and friendly competitions. This year, the scarecrow contest was a major hit.  Many creative entries were scattered through the AV Courtyard. The clinical supervisors took home the top prize for their outstanding “Coach of Bright Hearts” scarecrow, which captured the spirit of Penny Lane’s Heart Centered Culture with a clever and detailed design. Meanwhile, the Chili Cook-Off kept festival goers’ taste buds entertained, with various unique and delicious entries. Maria Espinoza wowed everyone and took the win for the second year in a row, impressing all with her award-winning recipe.

The day was packed with even more fun contests, adding to the lively atmosphere. In the individual costume contest, Mario Cruz-Martinez won first place with his impressive Mario costume, paying tribute to the beloved videogame character The group costume contest was equally entertaining, with Viola Garcia, Doris Guzman and Rina Orrellana teaming up to take the prize for their creative rock, paper, and scissors costumes. Festival goers also enjoyed a scavenger hunt that challenged employees to find hidden treasures around the AV grounds, as well as a hilarious mummy contest where teams raced to wrap their teammates in toilet paper. This year’s AV Fall Festival was a memorable celebration of community, creativity, and seasonal fun, leaving everyone excited for next year’s festivities.
