After years of hiatus due to COVID-19, health fairs have made a comeback at Penny Lane Centers! The North Hills/North Hollywood Health Fair was first up and took place on Thursday, September 12th from 11am-2pm on the outside patio of the Mark Taper Building! Employees were greeted with delicious pretzels made with only natural ingredients and no preservatives or additives provided by BreadBasket Bake House! Employees also had the opportunity to enter a raffle to win one of ten raffle prizes! A Rite Aid Pharmacist was onsite to offer flu and covid vaccines for the convenience of our employees! Other vendors included SmileFinders, Nutrishop, Kaiser, Guardian, Cigna, SnB Crafts Space, True Power Essentials (essential oils), and more! The day was filled with music, food, information, and wellness! Employees learned about different ways of healing via True Power Wellness, and different ways to stay energized and active via Nutrishop! Employees also learned about all the online and in-person benefits that our medical and dental carriers have to offer besides basic coverage.
This year’s health fair was a reminder that health, wellness, and well-being never stop. Self-care looks different for everyone. Yes, basic healthcare coverage and visiting the doctor regularly is important, but the different ways we can care for our health and well-being are just as important! Whether that means visiting a local Nutrishop to understand our body composition, taking advantage of Active&Fit’s discounted gym membership, or even stocking up on some essential oils, we must understand all the ways in which we can care for our health and well-being. We are so grateful that we were able to host health fairs after so long of not being able to!

Staff who attended the Commerce Health Fair on 9/19 were greeted with beautiful balloon arches at both ends of the fair and a balloon arch with big PLC lettered balloon in front of the main entrance! It was an overcast day which was perfect for the Health Fair as it was not too hot for the outside fair! All vendors had a pop-up canopy and a table displaying the program or items they were promoting. All of the Penny Lane health care vendors were present in addition to Farm Fresh to You, Doterra Essential Oils, Reiki by Cindy Meckler, Chiropractic by Dr. Jason Ngan, Dietician Anna Duran, fresh fruit and fruit juices by La Botaneria and great teas by Zen Tea House! A previous Penny Lane employee was selling many fun items that staff were able to create right at her table!
Staff were able to get their Fall flu shots provided by Cosmed Pharmacy and 11 pints of much needed blood was donated by staff to the Huntington Hospital mobile blood drive! It was a great day and a great Health Fair!

AV Health Fair on September 26, 2024, was a vibrant event held in the large conference room, where Penny Lane employees gathered to explore various health and wellness resources. The atmosphere was enhanced by lively music, creating a welcoming environment for all. Attendees enjoyed a healthy snack cup filled with granola, fruit and a protein donut and had the chance to win exciting raffle prizes. Rite Aid Pharmacy was on-site to offer flu shots, ensuring everyone could take proactive steps towards their health this season. Several key organizations, including Cigna, Kaiser, Guardian, and EBAM, provided valuable information at their tables, helping Penny Lane employees navigate their health insurance options and wellness services.
The health fair featured an impressive lineup of vendors offering a range of products and services. Graceful Beauty demonstrated samples of their beauty products, while Doterra Essential Oils introduced attendees to natural wellness solutions. Local fitness centers, Ladies First Fitness and Spa and The Lancaster Camp Transformation Center, generously offered free day passes, encouraging Penny Lane employees to engage in physical activity. Nutritional options were highlighted with Nutrilite vitamins, Biónicos and Juice Rios offering refreshing sample juices. Ser Sano Reiki provided insights into holistic health practices and additionally, they generously offered a thirty-minute Reiki session raffle prize for attendees. Overall, the AV Health Fair successfully fostered a community spirit focused on health, wellness, self-care and informed living. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone in the Penny Lane AV offices who participated in the Health Fair, making a joyful return after many years due to Covid-19.
