I know there has been cause for concern regarding the new Presidential Administration. I want to take a moment to address how recent executive orders may or may not affect Penny Lane in the vital work we do. I know that moments of political transition can bring uncertainty, and I want to reassure you that Penny Lane remains strong, unwavering and committed to our mission.
First, I want to be clear that recent announced freeze on federal grants will not directly impact our day-to-day operations at Penny Lane. We use federal grants only for special projects, not for core funding. Our essential services are supported by Medicaid, which is an entitlement program that cannot and will not be touched by executive orders. The work we do every day serving children, families, and individuals who depend on us will continue without disruption.
Beyond our strong financial foundation, I want to reaffirm something even more important: our values. Penny Lane remains steadfast in our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, DEI–B. We continue to believe in and fight for racial justice and stand proudly in our support of the LGBTQ+ community. Our DEI programs are self-funded, which means no external political forces will alter our work or our convictions. EDGY and Rise Up will be louder and stronger than ever this year.
We also stand firm in our roles as a sanctuary for all people. We support and uplift immigrants and will never waver in our dedication to those seeking safety, dignity, and a better future. No policy will change or redefine who we are what we stand for.
In times of uncertainty, we are urged to hold onto what we know to be true. Penny Lane is a place of hope, healing and belonging. We will not retreat. We will not compromise our values. We will continue to show up, speak out, and do the work that makes this world more just, more inclusive, and more compassionate.
Thank you for standing strong in the name of love. Because of you, Penny lane will always be a lighthouse and a beacon for good.
In love and light,
