Saturday morning 4/13 was a day of gratitude and giving as Penny Lane Centers/Abbey Road were the recipients of a large donation of cleaning and household supplies from the Home Deport Foundation. We were invited to the warehouse to collect the items and what a surprise when we saw the stack of items that were going to be donated for our families at Sun Commons and Meta Housing development as well as the smiling faces and welcoming arms from the Home Depot staff. We felt overwhelmed by their generosity, kindness and support.
Home Depot was founded in 1978 for home improvement and the retail industry. Today, they are one of the world’s largest home improvement retailers. The Home Depot and The Home Depot Foundation have partnered with and invested tens of millions of dollars in organizations whose programs focus on social equity, which helps them further their mission to strengthen their communities.
The Home Depot staff which included Team Depot representative Jerry Alvarado were so caring and interested in learning more about Penny Lane and the individuals receiving these items. It showed the commitment to give back to communities and individuals in need. We are grateful not only for the donation but for the willingness to help the most vulnerable population of individuals lacking necessities. As an organization we need the help of the community and the support from Home Depot will allow us to further our mission to foster hope and transform lives.
Penny Lane Centers Housing Services employees, specifically Evelyn Pacheco, Jenay Valdez, Cynthia Shackelford and Kymberly James, You rock! Thank you for giving your Saturday to pick up this donation for your families. Your dedication and commitment to children and families shows in everything you do to support them.
